Where is POW?
POW! is located in the West Loop of Chicago. We are 100 feet South of the corner of Racine and Jackson. We are located on the 1st Floor (South-end) of the LifeStorage building.
Do you offer parking?
POW! has a large parking lot we share with LifeStorage behind our building just West of Racine on Jackson. It is free for our customers to park in this lot. Please avoid parking in spots that are marked Namaste or quick loading. There is also free parking on both Jackson and Racine. Please keep in mind, Racine is a tow zone from 7-9am and 4-6pm for the rush hour traffic going to the highway.
Can I take the CTA or El to POW?
POW! is located one block (a 2 minute walk) from the Racine stop on both the Jackson bus (126) and ‘El’ Blue line. You can also take the Madison Bus (20) and use the Racine stop. Then walk 3 blocks south to reach our front door.
Can you give me directions if driving to POW?
POW! Gym is located very close to I90/I94 and the Eisenhower expressways. If you are taking I90/I94 you will exit at Adams Street and head West to Racine. If you are taking the 290 Expressway (Eisenhower) you will exit Racine for the easiest access and head North one block.
Do you offer child-care?
No, POW! does not offer day care or playcare. However, we offer classes for kids starting at 3 years old. Click here to learn more about our kids programs. We offer over 30 classes a week for kids and there are adults classes at the same time for most of these training sessions.
Do you offer trial classes?
We do not offer free trial classes. We offer intro training memberships. For adults, it is $39 for 2 weeks of unlimited classes. For POW! Kids it is $25.00 for one week of classes and for the Parisi Speed School, it is $50.00 for one week of classes and an evaluation.
Do you offer personal training or private lessons?
Our staff is available to offer ay type of private training you seek. Share your goals with us and we can design a workout that combines any of the various styles of training. Click here to read more about it.
What do I need to wear to class (WOMEN)?
We suggest workout leggings for women (whether they are long or capris). If you prefer shorts, we suggest wearing a boy-style undergarment. We discourage wearing half shirts or showing your mid section in our classes.
Since most of our classes have pad holding or controlled contact (i.e. krav maga, muay thai,etc..) is is best to wear a tank and tee that covers your stomach. We ask our students to have an indoor training shoe to use inside of POW. We do not allow torn or ripped shirts.
What do I need to wear to class (MEN)?
We suggest workout shorts or pants. We discourage wearing half shirts or showing your mid section in our classes. Since most of our classes have pad holding or controlled contact (i.e. krav maga, muay thai,etc..) is is best to wear a tank and tee that covers your stomach. We ask our students to have an indoor training shoe to use inside of POW. We do not allow torn or ripped shirts.
What is an indoor training shoe?
Any training show that is not work outside on the street. When arriving at POW! our student remove their shoes. This helps with getting our school clean.
