POW! GYM Chicago Proud of Coach Anthony's Recent Wins 

Anthony Schleicher is an international-level kickboxer and Muay Thai Fighter from Chicago.  He has recently won the USA Muay Thai National Championship, making him the ONLY AMERICAN National Team member for both Muay Thai and Kickboxing.  His current goal is to now win World Gold Medals BOTH in Kickboxing and Muay Thai in 2024/2025. He has also won championship titles for top local promotions and National Sanctioning Bodies. 


Anthony, trains and coaches at at POW! GYM Chicago since 2022.  POW! GYM Chicago is Latina-owned and opened in 2001.  Anthony's Head Coach is Austin Lewis the Head Muay Thai Coach at POW! GYM Chicago.

Anthony is a visual artist. His work often comments on themes such as colonization, African diaspora, displaced peoples, and cultural collisions. Schleicher practices include painting, drawing, and sometimes sculpture. He graduated with a BFA from SAIC in 2020. His paintings and murals have been featured in Chicago art spaces. By day, he is a Restorative Justice Counselor who helps children from several CPS Schools.


Anthony won his first USA Kickboxing Championship in 2023, Earning a spot on the USA Kickboxing National Team for 2023.  His international debut was at the 2023 WAKO Kickboxing World Championships, where he placed as a Bronze Medalist.

After his Kickboxing bronze medal run in 2023, Anthony started 2024 by defending his USA Kickboxing National Title. He then won the USA Muay Thai National Championship, making him the ONLY AMERICAN National Team member for both Muay Thai AND Kickboxing. His current goal is to now win World Gold Medals BOTH in Kickboxing AND Muay Thai in 2024/2025. The WAKO and IFMA Tournaments in 2024 are also the qualifiers for 2025 World Games. With both Kickboxing and Muay Thai being featured sports at the 2025 World Games, Anthony looks to become a 2-Sport Athlete at the Games.

I can't say enough about POW. I joined about a year ago and it has been life changing for my strength, conditioning, balance and just overall well-being.  The coaches are outstanding and take care to learn different students' capabilities then adjust workouts individually as needed. As a complete newbie when I started, this made me feel safe and comfortable in trying all these new things. Having been a member of 5 different gyms (2 strength/conditioning, 1 wrestling, 1 boxing, 1 MMA) I’ve found POW to be the cleanest, most professional, welcoming, and accessible gym by far.

There are at least three other reasons for why POW is an excellent gym:

1. POW has the equipment and space I need to do any of the aforementioned activities (Strength/conditioning, wrestling, boxing, MMA).
2. The owner clearly only hires qualified staff who contribute to the professional/welcoming environment.
3.  I have seen both families and high-level athletes in this gym. It takes a certain kind of gym to accommodate both.

That being said, I have no problem stating that POW is the single best gym in West Loop.

If I recall correctly, I have only ever written 2 Google reviews in my life. The reason why I took the time to write this one is so that you can join POW, give them business, and keep them around so I can continue to enjoy this gym for years to come.
