The West Loop has a great mixture of trend-setting cuisine featuring celebrity chefs like the 2017’s James Beard Foundation winner, Sarah Grueneberg and 2008’s Top Chef winner, Stephanie Izard. The culinary options throughout the West Loop neighborhood will delight anyone’s palette. As a long-time business owner who has survived alongside many of anchoring restaurants like Wishbone, Le Sardine and Grazianos,  I still remain a loyal patron.  I love steak frites at Le Sardine, breakfast at Wishbone and jumbo sandwiches at Graziano’s.

POW! Gym has adapted to the growth the West Loop has experienced, expanding programs, hours of operation and space. As a growing business that is highly dedicated to the West Loop we also support the many options for food along the three key corridors, Madison, Randolph and Fulton.

The POW! Gym staff which consists of 20+ instructors and coaches want to share their favorite spots and dishes in the West Loop. Despite our dedication to fitness and health, the POW! staff favs will not prescribe to any diet.

Their simple seasonal salads and bowls give the POW! staff the best fuel for training. This is a staff favorite and one of our go-tos after taking lunch classes like Strength and Conditioning or KICKFit. POW! Coach Susan Shen admits there is nothing better than a Sweetgreen Grain Bowl waiting for you when you are done with a workout.


This urban Indian café is one of the newest additions to the West Loop.   The Chicken Seekh Burger is a staff favorite and where we go for a quick bite. The casual benches outside along Throop have been an enjoyable experience when you are looking for an outdoor dining option. The casual setting is ideal when you’re sweaty from a Thai Kickboxing class and don’t want to venture over to the Fulton Street options.


A quaint Madison Street option featuring great American food and a fantastic wine menu. A great place for locals, as well as tourists. Owned by Gina Stefani, POW! staff loves the Brussels sprouts and crab cakes. This is a perfect place when meeting up with your training partners for a drink and appetizers.


Although Nando’s is an international chain from South Africa, it provides the POW! Staff with an affordable and reliable source of power-food.   Ash Dunwell, POW! administrator loves the ½ chicken, macho peas and salted chips after a Ringtime Boxing Class. We recommend Nando’s also for a group meet-up and super kid-friendly.



This neighborhood café is one of our most frequent spots. POW! Staff orders breakfast and lunch weekly. Aside from picking up great coffee, our morning staff often orders a couple of their egg wraps after leading early morning Boxing and Sports Performance sessions. If you are hitting MSC for lunch, go with POW! GM, Lizzie Denvir’s,  favorite wrap- Tuscan chicken with roasted veggies.



This Lettuce Entertain You creation fits right into its Fulton Market address. Offering a wonderful outdoor option and bar, POW! staff has found their food to be memorable. Brennan Cox, Director of Parisi Speed School loves the turkey, sweet potato neatloaf and the Chicken Bebe.


Avec has received its fair share of write-ups. Positioned consistently on many West Loop’s Top Ten Lists of fabulous places to eat; Avec’s  Mediterranean and Midwestern dishes are meant to be shared. POW! Staff feels their notoriety is well-justified and makes for the perfect intimate dining experience. Owner of POW!, Katalin Ogren admits she has too many dishes to list, but the wood oven roasted wild salmon and charred eggplant with pickled cherries are amazing.


Located on Madison Ave. for years, this traditional Italian restaurant offers a charming atmosphere. Their menu is a wonderful mix of traditional pastas, meats, and fishes. POW! Staff loves their eggplant parm and their signature dish called West Loop Chicken. This wonderful chicken breast is breaded and then stuffed with ricotta, tomato, and mushrooms. The meal is worth it, but you might need to balance it out with POW! Gym’s B.A.D. Boxing After Dark class to achieve a 1000-calorie burn.
